Tom Elden founded Origami Capital Partners in 2008, and has been investing in private and public securities since 1993. He was a founding member of Lakeview Opportunity Fund, a fund of activist hedge funds, and Lakeview Capital Management, LLC, a Chicago-based investment firm. Prior to forming Lakeview in 1999, Tom was a partner with Grosvenor Capital Management, L.P., now a $46 billion multi-manager investment firm, which he joined in 1993. Previously, he held positions at SEI Corporation and Sterling Partners, a leveraged buyout firm. He serves on the investment committee of the Irving Harris Foundation and is a director of A Better Chicago, a venture philanthropy fund. Tom has a BA from the University of Chicago and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Chicago. Tom Elden and Jeff Young have known each other since 2001.
