Origami Capital announces new office in Austin, TX, and addition of Young Moon as VP, Legal and Compliance
Origami continues expansion with the opening of its office in Austin, TX
Chicago, IL July 28, 2021 — Origami Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in complex special situations across private equity, private credit and real estate, announces the opening of its office in Austin, TX.
The decision to expand to Austin confirms Origami’s optimistic long-term view of the viability of opportunities in Texas and the surrounding region. In addition, the move underscores Origami’s continued commitment to investing in private technology and software companies.
Origami’s Austin team will initially include investment team members Matthew Miller and John Butler, who have both relocated to Austin to support Origami’s local presence.
Matt is a Managing Director and a member of the firm’s Management Committee, and his areas of focus include growth-stage technology and specialty finance.
John bolsters Origami’s expansion into the financial technology sector and has extensive experience across tech-enabled business services, financial services, and healthcare.
Matt and John are also integral to Origami’s new illiquid asset lending effort, which provides NAV-based financing to ultra HNW individuals, family offices, and the management companies of alternative asset managers.

Young Moon, newly appointed VP, Legal and Compliance joins Origami
Origami is excited to announce the addition of Young Moon in 2021. Young will focus on managing deal execution and other legal processes.
Prior to Origami, Young practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP, where she successfully represented public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions and advised on a broad range of corporate and securities matters.
She brings nearly a decade of experience working with clients at top tier law firms to provide practical guidance in navigating a variety of complex transactions.

Young earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science from Boston College and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. She is admitted in Illinois.
