Origami Capital announces the recapitalization of a growth equity fund and the promotion of Matthew Miller

Origami Capital acts as a “one-stop-shop” solution across multiple transactions, committing over $50 million to facilitate the recapitalization of a growth equity fund and its portfolio companies

Chicago, IL, March 24, 2021 – Origami Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in complex special situations across asset classes, announced the closing of a multifaceted recapitalization of a growth equity fund. As part of the transaction, Origami (i) facilitated the recapitalization of the fund into a continuation vehicle, (ii) partnered with the fund manager to purchase interests in a strong healthcare portfolio company from legacy investors and (iii) refinanced and upsized a NAV facility to enable the fund to capitalize on COVID-induced opportunities across its portfolio. Through this transaction, Origami gained exposure to a diversified portfolio of high-quality assets in the payments, education, software and healthcare industries.

“The confluence of solutions Origami provided in this transaction highlights our ability to be a true full-service solution for investors, fund managers and portfolio companies,” said Julie Klaff, an Origami Partner. Added John Butler, “this is a dynamic and unique portfolio and we are proud to partner with the fund and portfolio companies to build value.”
