Origami Capital builds on the momentum of successful Timberline partnership with purchase of Daytona Beach properties

The tailwinds of the Florida industrial real estate sector, coupled with current market e-commerce trends, create another promising opportunity for 2022 and beyond

Chicago, IL February 2, 2022 – Origami Capital Partners (“Origami”), a private equity firm focused on opportunistic special situations, once again teams up with Austin-based Timberline Real Estate Partners to execute the purchase of 1,600 acres of land in Daytona Beach, Florida from its longstanding landowner.

Origami and Timberline performed deep diligence on an accelerated basis to develop individual business plans for each of the 15 land assets acquired in the bulk purchase. Many of the assets have already been placed under contract to be sold to developers to deliver a mix of uses in and around the I-95/LPGA corridor. The portfolio includes a five (5) million square foot industrial/logistics development site to be held for development by the partnership. Exceptional population growth and business relocations continue to build demand for modern, centrally-located industrial real estate assets supporting economic growth, increased e-commerce activity, and supply chain resiliency.

“This opportunity taps into the dynamic growth in Florida and the relative lack of large-scale industrial development at the intersection of I-95 and I-4. The addition of Daytona Beach’s and Volusia County’s strong labor pool made this portfolio acquisition extraordinarily compelling,” said Stan Nix, CEO of Timberline.

Origami and Timberline have a longstanding and successful partnership across multiple investments in the US and continue exploring opportunities that highlight and further each firm’s investment strategy.

“Timberline is an incredible partner, and we are thrilled to be working with Stan and partners on what we’re sure will be another successful venture,” said Julie Klaff, Partner at Origami.
