Origami Capital Partners Announces Key Promotions and Strategic New Hire
Chicago, IL — August 11, 2025 — Origami Capital Partners is pleased to announce several key personnel advancements as the firm continues its strong growth trajectory and commitment to developing internal talent. The promotions and new hire reflect Origami’s dedication to rewarding exceptional performance and expanding its capabilities across legal, investment, and asset management functions.
Young Moon has been promoted to General Counsel, where she will continue to lead all legal and compliance functions for the firm. Since joining Origami, Young has played an integral role in navigating complex transactions and strengthening Origami’s legal infrastructure.
Tom Sutrinaitis has been promoted to Principal, Head of Originations. In this expanded role, Tom will oversee Origami’s deal sourcing efforts, driving the firm’s investment pipeline and origination strategy. His leadership and keen investment acumen have been instrumental in growing Origami’s portfolio of complex, illiquid assets.
Sam Eduljee and Shengshun Zhou have both been promoted to Vice President. Sam has consistently demonstrated strong analytical expertise and leadership across a variety of investments, while Shengshun has been a key contributor in Origami’s asset management initiatives and transaction execution. Both promotions reflect their significant contributions to the firm’s success.
In addition to these internal promotions, Origami is excited to welcome Nicholas Balda as an Asset Management Associate. Nicholas joins Origami from EY-Parthenon’s Financial Services group, where he focused on buy-side acquisitions, carve-outs, and corporate valuations. His transaction experience includes multi-billion-dollar deals across insurance, legal, and financial services sectors. Nicholas brings a robust background in financial modeling, due diligence coordination, and operational analysis. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Analytics from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
