Origami Capital Partners announces two Illiquid Asset Loan transactions, providing creative financing solutions for family offices

Chicago, IL – October 16, 2024 – Origami Capital Partners announces the closing of two structured financing solutions to two unrelated family offices. Origami’s loan proceeds will support new investment opportunities for the families. The transactions mark the expansion of Origami’s Illiquid Asset Loan strategy, which offers non-dilutive capital solutions to owners of private assets seeking liquidity and growth capital.

One loan, secured by a highly diversified portfolio of limited partner interests in private funds, helped the borrower fund capital commitments to new and existing managers. The other loan, collateralized by minority corporate investments and real estate holdings, allowed the borrower to acquire new investments and refinance existing debt. Both transactions highlight Origami’s ability to deliver a customized “one-stop-shop” liquidity solution by lending against multiple disparate assets, including ownership stakes in operating businesses, private fund interests, real estate, niche financial assets, and legal claims, among others.

Julie Klaff, Partner at Origami Capital Partners, stated, “As banks and other traditional financing sources curtail lending activity in certain parts of the market, we are excited to grow our Illiquid Asset Loan strategy. We are seeing quite a robust pipeline in this space and look forward to working with other family offices, private funds and holding companies looking for inventive liquidity solutions to unlock value from their private assets without having to raise dilutive capital.”
